Last trip in Language Course

Today is the last trip in language course. We went to three sightseeings: wedworth roman villa; bourton on the water and upton house and gardens.

Wedworth Roman Villa was built on 4 AD by roman people. Mosaic which is still very popular in designs now was found there. Interestingly, there are several bath rooms which have advanced heat and water system in the villa. It is said people who lived there at that time spent much time in the bath rooms, not only for bath, but also for chatting and resting.

After leaving wedworth roman villa, we went to Bourton on the water which is a lovely village. There’s a stream(little river) and some bridges in the village that makes the small town more vivid. We come across a free market there selling second hand books and videos. I bought a CD and two children books for my boy. Haha. Teach him studying english from the beginning.

Our last stop is Upton House and Gardens which originally belongs to a big family. On the 19th Century, it was bought by the family who set up shell company. Now I know why Shell has the name: the company was originally doing shell trading business, then switched to oil industry, but the name remained.

It’s a lovely trip. Hope I can still have a trip every week when term starts.
